Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for quite a while. Her birthplace was in Kildare Ireland, on 16th March 1984. The comedian has appeared on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known as the stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984) is an Irish actress, writer and stand-up comedian. Bea's acting career started in the year 2011, as a stand-up comedian, after she appeared in small part on Irish and British TV shows that began in the year 2009. By 2012 she was regularly being featured on sketch comedy programs as well as sitcoms. After she won an award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear regularly in various panel programs. In 2016 through 2017, she was a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular contestant in the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The child was born to Brian O'Sullivan, and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. In 2012, she was the only woman in history to be awarded the So You think you're Funny award. Her surname is Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also known as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet, who committed suicide after Bea reached the age of three, was the suicide victim. She was told about his suicide only after thirteen years of age. Her stage name Bea is a tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 about her experiences of suicide. Bea as well as her younger sister Sinead, were raised in the home of Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) who was a jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. The family was awed by horses, races as well as the race industry. Bea was a guide at the Irish National Stud in her young days. But she was aware it wasn't something she wanted to pursue for a living and that she was more interested in to perform.
