Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16, Alexandra played the leading character in various TV dramas. Her performance as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historical war film) was critically as well as commercially acclaimed. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra was involved in a variety of important international and national projects throughout her career. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical miniseries Napoleon among others. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
